Shifting Our Energy with Carol Look

Published by ahealedheart under Uncategorized

Recently I learned of an audio series of speakers who enrich our life and inspire our healing. One of the speakers I had a chance to listen to was Carol Look. She was amazing and I recommend you listen to her speak. http://attendthisevent.com/Classic/?eventid=10901865

I learned of Carol Look and others through Jennifer McLean’s website Master Works Healing where visitors can listen to a series of audio shows for free and then choose to join to have full access to many other audio’s and speakers. It is a wonderful site and I recommend it.

A Different Kind of Loss

Friday was a cold rainy day. With much trepidation I packed up the car and drove out of my driveway at 1240 pm. It took an hour to drive to Springhill to Carrie and Tim’s house. I transferred my bag to Carrie’s car and in 10 minutes we were on our way. Following the directions of the GPS I drove north to US98.

The next 4 ½ hours were miserable. It rained the entire trip but the roads were good and there was little traffic. Shortly after 6 pm we pulled into the Airport Motel in Blountstown, FL. The motel was isolated and there were only 2 other cars in the parking lot. The owner was nice, the room was very small but immaculately clean. The rain continued and due to fear of the unknown we got very little sleep. I had pushed a chair over in front of the door.

The temperature outside was 43 degrees. When the alarm went off at 530 am we were both already awake. We were on the road again in 30 minutes. The trusty GPS took us directly down SR71 to Stone Mill Creek Road and Gulf Correctional Institution Annex. Visitors were allowed in from 8 am to 2 pm. There were 2 other women in line outside the prison. We stood in 38 degree weather waiting for the guards to come out and process us through.

At 745 the guards came out and set up a table to sign in. They called 4 visitors at a time. Since it was Carrie and my first visit we had paperwork to fill out. Then the guard gave our driver’s license to the people on the other side of the window to check us out. When that was done we were given a little yellow card with a PIN number on it and told to write our inmate’s name and number on the back and get the card laminated. We had our photos taken, hands scanned three times and then we were patted down. All we were allowed to carry in was a see through envelope with our driver’s license, up to $50 and one car key. I was allowed to take my inhalor in. We were led through four different doors that had to buzzed open and clanged shut behind. Then into a large room with long tables with signs telling where we could sit and where the inmates had to sit. More buzzing and clanging.

Namaste Yoga

I recently discovered Namaste Yoga through Fit TV which is a Discovey Channel on Brighthouse. The Namaste Yoga show has been a wonderful discovery for me. I have experienced yoga only a few times in my life and so had little knowledge of the poses or just what the simplicity of yoga could do for me. This show allows each of us to discover at our pace how comfortable, peaceful, healing and calming yoga can be. The show takes you through each pose with beautiful visuals and a commentary as you are doing the pose to help you move from position to position with ease.

I find the scenery, the positions and the breathing to be calming, mindful and useful for my body and spirit. I have been doing the yoga only two weeks and already it is something I look forward to. I find myself noticing that I can understand the poses better with time and that my body is feeling more and more relaxed doing the poses. I also love that I feel calmer and more centered as I complete a thirty minute session. For additional information or short segments of the Namaste Yoga go to Fit TV  on the web.

When Sadness Overcomes Me

Published by ahealedheart under Uncategorized

This week has been a sad one for me. I’ve lost two people I love. Both people were significant in my life and both will be missed deeply, for very different reasons. One was my friend Scott. I had known Scott for twelve years. The other was my minister who I had come to love as a mentor and spiritual guide through some rough personal moments in my life.

I had known Reverend Donna Jean, or Dee Jay as she loved to be called for approximately four years. The depth of my sadness over Reverend Dee Jay resonates within me. I cannot imagine our church without her, and do not want to imagine it without her. I know she will continue to guide our church and our ministers from the other side of the veil and we will feel her love and support, but hearing her words, seeing her smile and knowing she is at the pulpit is what I will miss, what all of us will miss deeply.

Communion with God

Communion With God By: Peter Walsch

This book like other books Peter Walsch has written moves me and inspires me. A couple of days ago as I prayed for insight and inspiration the book opened to this particular passage and I was touched by the love I found there.

The Alchemist

Published by ahealedheart under Uncategorized

“The Alchemist “is another book I’ve read more than one time. The story is both inspiring and thought provoking. It’s message one of spiritual guidance for the reader. This morning I said a prayer and opened the book randomly, knowing I would find a message of insight. This is what I found.

When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person realize his dream,” said the alchemist, echoing the words of the old king. The boy understood. Another person was there to help him toward his Personal Legend.

Happy Birthday with Love

Dad with Robert and Ramona, friends from Guam.

Dad with Robert and Ramona and Linda, friends from Guam.

Today was my father’s birthday. It has been five and a half years since his death and of course with time and healing it is easier to face his birthday. I always miss him, and this year is no exception. So often I think of him, and feel his love and support with my from heaven. I am here in Florida because of dad and I have created a life living near the ocean because of the gifts he gave me. I’m grateful and sad, wishing he could be here physically to share my life and my adventures. He loved me deeply and he made great progress in the last couple years of his life to really try and understand my overseas life. He met some of my friends from overseas and he met one man I loved. He was able to share some very special moments and for that I will always be grateful. I love you Dad and I miss you.
